Reminder for recalled lithium batteries and devices containing such batteries are forbidden for transport by air.
Recently it is reported that several consumer electronics are recalled by their manufacturer due to safety reasons of lithium batteries. The recalled electronic devices also include the devices from different major brands. Unsafe lithium batteries could cause a dangerous evolution of heat which may eventually causing fire in the aircraft. According to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, lithium cells and batteries identified by the manufacturer as being defective for safety reasons are forbidden for transport.

China Airlines urges that all shipper and forwarder to exam if there are recalled electronics included in the shipment before delivering to China Airlines. Shipping unsafe lithium batteries by air is a violation against IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations which may be in breach of the applicable law, subject to legal penalties.
