China Airlines Variation
Note: The restrictions listed in all CI Variations do not apply to CI/AE/IT COMAT and R.O.C. Military shipment.


CI-01
The following dangerous goods will not be accepted for carriage as cargo on China Airlines' passenger aircraft:
 
  1. Class 1 to Class 8, except for UN2908, UN 2909, UN2910, UN2911, UN3164 meeting requirement of PI208 (a) and UN3373.
  2. Fully regulated lithium ion batteries, UN 3481 (Class 9) as per section I of PI 966-PI967 (RLI)
  3. Fully regulated lithium metal batteries, UN 3091 (Class 9) as per section I of PI 969-PI970 (RLM)
  4. UN 3171 Battery-powered vehicle (Class 9) powered by lithium batteries.

 

CI-02
Dangerous goods in excepted quantities will not be accepted, except for radioactive materials, excepted package

CI-03
Dangerous Goods in consolidations will not be accepted for carriage, except for:
 
  1. consolidations having one master air waybill with one house air waybill; or
  2. consolidations having one master air waybill with more than one house air waybill containing only dangerous goods; or
  3. consolidation containing the following dangerous goods and general cargo.
  4. UN1845 Carbon Dioxide, solid (Dry ice) when used as a refrigerant for non-dangerous goods
  5. UN2807 Magnetized material as per PI953 and with field strength no more than 0.418A/m or 0.00525 Gauss measured at a distance of 4.6m.
  6. ID8000 consumer commodity / UN1266 Perfumery product
CI-04
Any liquid Dangerous Goods having primary hazard or subsidiary hazard of Class 8 – Corrosives, in single packaging will not be accepted unless each single packaging overpacked with rigid material to protect at least the top and bottom of the packaging. The packages shall be stackable.

CI-05
Oxygen Generator Chemical - UN3356 will not be accepted for carriage.

CI-06
The shipper must obtain an approval from Atomic Energy Council/Taiwan for the import, export, transferring or transiting of Radioactive Material to, from, via Taiwan 7 days prior to flight departs from the State of origin. Radioactive material, excepted package is not subject to above requirement.

CI-07
Dangerous goods offered for transport under state exemptions or approvals (e.g. as required by Special Provision A1, A2 and A106 etc.) will not be accepted for carriage.

CI-08
Radioactive material (Class 7), except for “Radioactive material, excepted package”, must be segregated from packages containing Class 1,2,3 and 8 dangerous goods

CI-09
The following dangerous goods will not be accepted for carriage as cargo on China Airlines' aircraft.
  1. Lithium Metal cells and batteries (UN3090), prepared in accordance with Section IA and Section IB of Packing Instruction 968.
  2. UN 3480, Section IA/IB of PI 965(RBI), UN 3481, Section I of PI 966/PI 967(RLI) and UN 3091, Section I of PI969/PI970 (RLM) when overpacked or packed in the same outer packaging with other classes of dangerous goods.

Station Description (Effective date:07-JUL-2023)
All The following item is prohibited to accept as cargo
1. UN3090 Lithium Metal Batteries in PI968 Section IA/IB
DWC Prior permit must be obtained 48 hours prior to flight arrival at DWC except for cargo stay in aircraft
Please contact China Airlines DWC office.
(Prior permit is not required for cargo stay in a/c.)
1.Class 1 dangerous goods
2.Class 7 dangerous goods
3.Munition of War (MUW)
4.Sporting Weapon (SPW)
FRA All import DG shipment will be rechecked
HKG All DG shipment shall be claimed within 24 hours upon arrival
PNH Only UN3481 section II of PI966/967 and UN3091 Section II of PI969/970 lithium batteries with equipment are acceptable.
Does not accept any other Dangeours Goods, including UN1845 dry ice for cooling purpose,  UN2807 magnetized material, UN2910/UN2911 radioactive material, excepted package, UN3373 biological substance, category B.
Mainland China import limitation
Station Description (Effective date:28-MAR-2023)
CAN Accepts Class1 to Class9 dangerous goods on freighter aircraft. DG shipments with low tepmerature controll is not acceptable. 
CGO Accepts Class1 to Class9 dangerous goods on freighter aircraft. Prior approval from CGO required before forwarding. 
CKG Accepts dangerous goods class 1~6.8.9 on freighter aircrast. Prior approval from CKG required before forwarding. 
Note: Pre-alert CKGFFCI with consignee’s contact info to confirm the consignee will pick up in time.

UN3481 section II of PI966/967 and UN3091 Section II of PI969/970 lithium batteries with equipment are not affected by the restriction.
NGB Only accepts Class 9 dangerous goods.
UN2910/UN2911 radioactive material, excepted package and UN3373 biological substance, category B 
are not accept.
PEK Only accepts Class 9 dangerous goods. Prior approval from PEK required before forwarding
UN2910/UN2911 radioactive material, excepted package and UN3373 biological substance, category B are not accepted.
PVG Accepts Class1 to Class9 dangerous goods on freighter aircraft. Class 1 must be with prior approval from PVG required before forwarding.
SHA Only ELI/ELM are acceptable. Other dangerous goods are forbidden.
SZX Import of Class 1-9 dangerous goods in chemicals must be accompanied with material safety datasheet (MSDS), or safety datasheet (SDS) in CHINESE.
The original station must contact SZXFFCI for prior approval with Shipper's declaration (DGD) and CHINESE MSDS/SDS provided.
The d/g in chemicals must be picked up by consignee on same day of arrival.

Other non-chemical dangerous goods (such as UN3528 engines, vehicle, dry ice and lithium batteries) are not affected by the restriction.
XMN Accepts Class1 to Class9 dangerous goods on freighter aircraft
FOC All dangerous goods (include ICE/ELI/ELM) are unacceptable to FOC.
WUH All dangerous goods (include ICE/ELI/ELM) are unacceptable to WUH.
